The Hours is a 1998 novel by Michael Cunningham. The book was the recipient of the 1999 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction as well as the PEN/Faulkner Award for Fiction that same year. In 2002, it was made into an Oscar-winning film. The plot of the book follows three different generations of women affected by the classic novel Mrs. Dalloway.
