Part One:
Hi everybody!
I am writing this from a public library computer lab... Now I can finally catch you up on why I haven\'t been able to be on line!
My family\'s Internet Modem box kept going in and out the entire week of August 5th thru the 11th.
On Sunday the 12th, I was on line and my husband was about to log onto his computer. I had a bad feeling about it. I said "No, no, don\'t! Use my computer instead!" But he turned his on anyway. We lost our internet, and this time it was permanent. In hindsight, it was probably just as well that he did that. The Internet Modem box was dying anyway, and he simply put it out of it\'s misery....

One thing for sure, the more problems I have with my computer, the more that I\'m learning about them. I\'m really fortunate to have a computer savvy husband, and a son who just graduated with a Software Engineering Degree.
There are some big holes in my computer knowledge, but they keep getting filled in. I guess that you could call me a student in the Computer School of Hard Knocks.

Hello anybody & everybody----
I am having Hard Drive Problems. My hard drive is incredibly small as this is a homemade computer....
I knew that this would have to be fixed soon....... But not today! NOT READY!
But is has to be done.
I don\'t have time to get into it here. I may be off line for awhile, I don\'t know how long, and I have to go somewhere right now.
As soon as I leave, my son is going to start doing some virtual surgery.
I\'ll be back in touch ASAP. It could be as early as tomorrow, but I can\'t count on that.
Gotta dash, and wish I didn\'t have to.....

UPDATE ON THIS JOURNAL ENTRY:
The Good News is that my husband added an old 40 gig hard drive to the 30 gig hard drive that was in my computer! So I am back on line a lot quicker than I thought I would be.
The Uncertain News is I\'m not sure what will happen next.... but I\'m so happy to be back on DN that I am not worried about it at the moment. My hard drive area just got more than doubled, after all... I bet some of you are amazed that I only had a 30 gig hard drive! I know I was when I found out!:O

I had a lots going on this past week. I guess you can tell, since I was barely on DN at all.
I was involved with 2 funerals. One of my friends lost her mother. It wasn\'t unexpected, but that didn\'t make it any easier for her.
Then I got the news that the husband of a friend I sing with in a choir had passed away. That wasn\'t unexpected either, but very tough on my friend.
Our choir, which is out for the summer, sang at the funeral. Then almost everyone at the funeral remained for the lunch. It was good to see everybody again, but I wish the occassion had been a happier one for my friend. It was draining for me, and of course it was much harder for her.
Between the funerals and some other stuff I was dealing with, I didn\'t get nearly as much computer time as usual. I hope and think that I can start showing up here daily again, or near to it. It is great to be back!
PS. My son was on my computer this week and he kept complaining at how slowly it was running. He and my husband figured out why. My hard drive is 98 percent full! But that isn\'t very surprising, since I only have 30 gig on my hard drive. I have a computer from everywhere-- my husband put it together many years ago, and my harddrive is old--and very small.
They hope to do something about that within the next couple of weeks. In the meantime, I am not supposed to download anything, which includes wallpaper!  Sigh. I can download some-- but only ifI can find something of the same size to delete. Thank goodness for my Favorites File! At least I can store anything I want to download there and not lose it.

Hello everybody, whoever you are!
It has been brought to my attention that my website link to getpersonnas.com is non functional. This is definitely true. Moreover, another Personas designer named Moyra1 has the same problem! The trouble is, I don\'t think she knows that. She lives in France. If I explain the problem to her in English, she\'ll have trouble understanding me. I know some French, but not enough to explain the problem very well. If there is someone reading this who is fluent in French, maybe they can help me out with this problem. Feel free to answer this journal entry or PM me if you can help with this.
I am going to post the link to my Personas website in this Journal entry and hopefully that will work. Boy, what a way to let people know that I have started using the journal. lol

PS. At this time, getpersonas is being migrated over to a new website. It isn\'t finished yet. When it is, I will give a new link to my Personas. It will still be a lead in to the Personas that I\'ve made but the "gallery" set up will look different.
At this time, I am planning to put a link into my website for every journal post I make from here on in.
That way it will be easy for people to find. UPDATE: The Website link on my Profile does work now!!! Thank you to Daxe09 for helping me with that. I have passed that info on to 2 friends on DN and they have fixed theirs. |
| Can ANYBODY on DN post in this thing? I thought this was sort of to help you keep track of things you learn, i.e. Today I figured out how to upload a wallpaper in 7 seconds or less! or Maybe, today figured out how to turn an orange pumpkin purple with my graphic arts program....
I don\'t know what I am getting myself into here! I have noticed that very few DN members seem to use these journal thingies....
Well, I\'m done writing in here for now anyway. I have to get off line for awhile \'cause somebody is vaccumming...... |

Now that I have figured out how to write in here, I have to decide if I want to or not.
I suppose I could use this to leave messages instead of beating up the education thing in my public profile.... I\'ll have to think about it some more. Anyway, I figured it out all by myself! Woo hoo! |
