Apple has restarted the beta testing cycle after a brief break for the holiday season. Developers will begin receiving iOS 16.3 beta 2 this afternoon along with iPadOS 16.3 beta 2 and other updates. To learn more about these developments, continue reading below.
Registered developer beta testers will be able to download iOS 16.3 beta 2 starting today. You can apply the update as it becomes available over the air by navigating to the Settings app, selecting General, and then selecting Software Update. Apple hasn't yet made the second iOS 16.3 beta available to public beta testers, but we anticipate it to happen this week.
Apple is beta testing the following updates for its other platforms in addition to the iOS 16.3 beta:
iPadOS 16.3 beta 2
watchOS 9.3 beta 2
macOS 13.2 beta 2
tvOS 16.3 beta 2
According to Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, Apple plans to deploy these improvements either in February or early March.
What has iOS 16.3 added?
Nearly a month ago, iOS 16.3's first beta was made available. There aren't many brand-new features or modifications in the update as of now. Use of physical security keys to safeguard Apple IDs is one of the new features included in the update. As a result, you will be able to set up a physical hardware device to act as your account's second layer of two-factor authentication.
