Several states and countries have already legalized weed, and more countries are looking into it, either for medicinal purposes or for entertainment. While at this phase, those who already have it running need to produce quality weed, and one of the steps of ensuring that is how it\'s dried.

There are two ways of drying cannabis, either hang them or lay them on a tray. Both ways are best for drying your freshly harvested cannabis, but it only depends on the operations and the style you decide on. In drying cannabis, you may decide to separate the buds from the leaves and stems them dry them separately; break it into smaller branches, and de-leaf large leaves; hang the plant as is with branches and leaves. Get more information about cannabis drying racks on this link.

Whichever style you choose to dry them in, selecting a proper drying rack is essential.

If you grow your weed indoors, select cannabis hanging dry rack as this will work best for your type of operation. You will hang dry the plants intact or on the rack or allow smooth airflow through the rack. The process takes a bit of time but results in quality properly dried plants. Hang drying method is a straightforward, cost-effective solution, and it saves you space.

Using a hanging drying rack

To hang dry, prepare the harvested plants by trimming off extra leaves, including the fan sugar leaves. Removing those will reduce the volume of the plant, leaving you with much slender branches. Hang them upside down side by side to prevent buds from flattening and allowing room for airflow. The drying process should start 2 hours after harvest and left for 5-9 days maximum.

The results hang-drying method often results in a stronger aroma, which may need to be avoided if you are doing this in a dense population. Since you have to cut off excess leaves, the hand drying process is most suitable for small amounts.

For tray drying

The tray drying method is employed by a professional horticulturist who runs much larger farms with sophisticated operations. For this, you can dry the buds by separating them from the main branches and spreading them on the tray, and placing them on the drying rack. Since you are only drying the buds, it takes a shorter time to dry. Tray drying requires constant monitoring, so the buds don\'t dry off to a crisp.

The tray drying method reduces the aroma of the buds, so your neighbors are not interfered with. It also allows you to handle high volumes, and the drying racks are used as a storage area.

Qualities of a proper drying rack

Size-Whether mesh, metallic, a drying rack should be able to accommodate all the plants you intend to dry on it.

Ventilation- for mesh hanging racks, they should be breathable and well ventilated to allow proper airflow. The trays must be of quality material so that the weed won\'t grow mold and the racks well-spaced for proper drying and proper storage.

Durable- polyester is most preferred for mesh hanging dryers.

Price- Should be cost-effective and way within your intended budget.

When properly dried, your cannabis will boast of improved smoothness, increased potency, and increased shelf life. Overall a quality product.
