They must ask first.. I have never seen dA so upset about something. Most of us have a copyright discalimer on our userpages for everyone to read. Many put it in the comments under the image.. You just can't take somethng that belongs to other's and not expect anger and frustration.. Especially art.. We put our heart and souls into our work.. When it is taken without permission, it's like a part of our souls have been stolen.. I see the thread about this in the forum has been removed.. That's sad.. It needs to be discussed until everyone here understands that dA is not opensource.. dA is a place we post our art to sell or in hopes of finding work as a commercial artist.. When our work is stolen, it reduces those hopes.. I hope I have made you understand how we feel about what is going on here.. The biggest thing of all is that it is a copyright violation and against the law.. They could be sued.. I am trying to find a way to calmly put a stop to this before there is legal action.

Maybe the wise thing to do, is ask their permission before uploading any art from dA. Most dA artists are very protective ot their work.

I think that would be a very good idea. (I'll suggest this in the forum too.) And heck, even if you don't get it from DA, put a little tag saying "I found this picture on thiswebsite.com". This way (hopefully for the more civil ones) if people that are the artists come in, they can say "Well, they got it at this website, so I should investigate further rather than go after this person". Again, I suppose that would be counting on if they were civil, but I can hope.

Wouldn't be easier for all us that each time someone uploads a picture from DA that he or she wrote in the TAGS the author of the picture, source(Deviant Art) and the original name? this way, everyone would know that those pictures were made by DA artists...and all your pictures would be displayed on this site too....actually, if you think right that's an advantage for you don't you think?
