Wow, Sports Illustrated is reporting that ex Saint Louis Rams player Willie Gary is suing for 100, million dollars (Doctor Evil would be proud).
Presumably Gary is not alone in filing this lawsuit; the article references others but doesn’t explicitly say who they are.
It does seem as though the Patriot franchise has cheated, but to measure the repercussions of that cheating seems to me impossible.
We might learn whether or not they actually taped the Rams walkthrough, as is alleged, but even with that knowledge we won’t know if that was the difference in the game, which the Patriots won by only a field goal.
Hopefully this is the first of many lawsuits and penalties levied against New England. We don’t know what outcome their cheating had on the game,
but we do know they have cheated, covered up their actions, and generally acted in a less than honorable way throughout this process.

I know Congress has better things to do but at this point I’m curious to see where Arlen Specter’s investigation goes from here.
Out of Morgantown today comes a disturbing report that former Coach Rich Rodriguez took more than his assistant coaches to Michigan.
Apparently he may have taken a lot more, including strength and conditioning reports, booster information, player academic records, and other items. It’s just the latest story in a bizarre tale that transcends sports and politics.
The state of West Virginia and Rich Rod are currently heading toward legal confrontation regarding the payment of a reported 4 million dollar buyout clause in the contract extension signed last year.
Anyone who watched the NFL matchup this past weekend between San Diego and Indianapolis likely saw the spirited exchanges that took place between Philip Rivers,
the injured quarterback of the Chargers, and the hometown fans in the RCA Dome. While Rivers is taking a lot of heat for his actions in the press, his actions are easily defensible.
For one thing, the first exchanges began as Rivers was heading to the locker room for further exam of his injured knee. The fans, seizing the opportunity to shower him with boos and profanity, reacted as you might expect.
Rivers, to his credit, could be heard only uttering such phrases as, “Thank youâ€, and “I appreciate it.†Pretty G rated stuff, and not really worthy of a national media campaign.
Rivers is a well known competitor who enjoys running his mouth, but has never been accused of saying or doing anything profane or offensive.
It is interesting how Brett Favre is compared to a happy child when he acts in this way, but Philip Rivers ends up criticized.
