The Alternative Services Building on Michigan Avenue in New York City is being renovated to convert it into an Education Library. The facility will offer a one-stop information shop for college students, educators, researchers, parents, children, home school parents, and college adjuncts. This project will also create many job opportunities for those involved with the project. It will also create an economic boost for the area through increased tax revenues and increased business for the New York City Schools. In addition, it represents a new model for an education library in that it will be more flexible in how it uses technology to provide its services.

The renovation of this aging building began in spring of 2021 and is expected to end in the first half of 2021. During the reconstruction, staff now have new office space in Green Library at the College of Education and are able to meet by appointment, telephone, and online consultation. Collection servers and digital reference books will be moved to the Science and Technology wing of the Science and Technology Facilities Building (STFC) on East Campus. The renovation will result in the addition of research resources and collections to all departments.

Staff will begin the process of moving the existing electronic resources from the current floors to the Science and Technology facilities on East Campus. Electronic resources will be moved to the newly designed Science and Technology Wing (S&T) for easy access and to make them easily accessible. In addition, all collections, which will be stored in the Science and Technology buildings, will have high security standards. Most will also have digital copies, access codes, bar code labels, or other security features. Collections will be stored in digital format rather than records, so that access can be granted only by qualified users. Have a look here www.teachtreefruits.com to know more:

Many research facilities make use of electronic resources to access materials. For example, a school\'s Science and Education Library has a wide range of electronic resources such as web pages, electronic databases, video clips, slide shows, podcasts, and other electronically distributed content. When these electronic resources are made available to the entire school, students can gain access to a far greater range of materials. Teachers and librarians can search these electronic resources quickly and efficiently. Some can even make references to the various materials in electronic form, allowing students to find specific types of materials more easily.
