| Lillian Melendez emerged as the Ms USA World Universe winner on March 28, 2022. As the titleholder of the Ms USA World Universe, Lillian plans to continue further developing her community service efforts within her community and beyond. Her platform surrounds breast cancer awareness, prevention, and support.
“On March 27-28, I competed as Ms New Jersey in interview, speech, platform pitch, and other elements - at the end of the competition, I was crowned as the 2022 Ms USA World Universe," said Lillian while explaining her journey to the crown.
It has been a long journey for Lillian Melendez —from capturing the Ms New Jersey title to earning the role of the 2022 Ms USA World Universe. On the way to this international title, Lillian served her community and local breast cancer centers, even during the pandemic, by finding creative ways to support others. Advocating and interacting with patients and caretakers on social media, care baskets, speeches, and fundraisers are just a few ways she was able to serve.
For Lillian, earning this title is an honor, and she intends to live up to the pageant mission of changing the world through the platform. "It is an honor to earn this title and be able to speak up for breast cancer research, early detection, mastectomies, and taking care of not just patients but their caretakers too," said Lillian while explaining the role she will play as the new Ms USA World Universe Titleholder. She also plans to become an advocate for other causes during her year.
Going into this pageant, Lillian wanted to grow and offer service to humanity in a bigger way. She acknowledges that the system has truly allowed her to have that opportunity. As a published author and educator, Lillian believes that by putting in the hard work helps achieve results - this win was the result of a lot of practice, dedication, and hard work. She believes it was her commitment to her goal is what led her to achieving it.
