The Wishing Well
The Wishing Well

It’s without movement I stood
And watched the coin’s path
While so gently it descended
To the bed of the well
A burning wish in my mind
I spoke with conviction
And with all of my heart
Did I follow this through

As the coin ripples faded
Upon still water I glanced
My reflection cast back
On the mirror like surface
Eyes wide still glowing
With wanting, with wonder
As my wish I still traced
With each beat of my heart
