Can you learn maths from scratch on your own?

More than half of the pupils at school don't like maths. Yes, it is difficult, but it can be fun to learn. The most important thing is to avoid skipping material, because all subsequent topics overlap with what you've already studied. And if you have a gap somewhere, there will be more and more.

Learning maths on your own is the hardest option to choose.

If you want to learn the subject from scratch, you will have to study several times a week for 2-3 hours, without dropping out or putting it off.

You can find a lot of material on the internet with which to really learn maths: both theoretical videos and practical exercises.

First you will have to sort through the huge amount of new material, figure out what's superfluous, and make a study schedule. After that you have to come up with your own programme to study, e.g. 20 minutes for the theory, 30 minutes for the exercises, 30 minutes for the problems plus a list of these problems and exercises. If you are inexperienced in programming, this will take quite a long time. The programme has to be made up for all classes and this will be difficult without a tutor.

Teaching your subject at home is realistic
There are three ways to teach your subject at home, if you want to be able to study it effectively:
- maths homework help online;
- with a tutor;
- online courses.
Studying mathematics with a tutor is already easier than studying on your own. The teacher devises the curriculum and materials to suit your goals and level. If you don't want to study individually, you can find a tutor for group lessons, and the programme will also be tailored to your needs.

You choose your own hours, you can combine classes with school or children's sections. The tutor also adjusts the topics of the lessons to you, you can study not one hour, but two, if you have free time and energy; and the topics can be studied only those that are most needed at the moment (for example, a test in two days, and need to tighten the material).
