Today I found a beautiful drawing submitted by Taunteanna.
The picture is titled "Meet The Unicorn" ID#2537797.
I suggest that you go take a look at it and favorite it, if you wish.
It\'s the picture of dreamers, and every little girl dreams of a unicorn at least once in their lives.
In fact it\'s those very dreamers that help keep the unicorn alive.
I should know, my five year old grand-daughter spend as much time as she can in our horse barn, and the talk always revolves around the horses and unicorns.
As old as I am I always tell her to never forget and always keep looking, because if she keeps looking then the unicorn\'s will never fade away no matter how old you (and we) get.
"Dreams only die, when you forget to dream"...…...Never stop dreaming.
My best wishes to all those that still believe....(because I still do, I have to, a five year old girl never lets me forget about those dreams of long ago).
Posted a 1987 picture of Def Leppard.
They were inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame in 2019.
Most likely the greatest band to ever come out of the 1980\'s.
Hope you enjoy it.
I have uploaded two pictures of Cleveland Bay Horses. One picture is of a Mare and Foal and the other is of a young stallion (also a Cleveland Bay). The breed is presently on the endangered list as there are so few of them any more (in this case less than 2000 horses). During the 1800\'s the Cleveland Bay Horse was considered one of the best (if not the best) carriage horse in England.
At the present time The Royal Family is the largest breeder of the Cleveland Bay Horse with those horse\'s being used for ceremonies associated with the Queen and with the Mounted Horse Guards as well. The majority of the Cleveland Bays are in England with the next largest group being in the United States.
I was going through some old magazines (Thoroughbred Record) and ended up looking at some pictures of Sunday Silence and Easy Goer from 1989. During that year they were the two horses to watch in racing. Sunday was the west coast horse and Easy was the east coast horse. It all came down to the triple crown duel between the two of them. Sunday took the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness, Easy took the Belmont, denying the crown to Sunday.
But in the end it was Sunday that became the Horse of The Year..
Two Great Horses.....
One Great Year For Racing......1989.
Okay.....I think that the picture of Ruffian is the best thing that I\'ve done in awhile.
Not sure what made me think of her, but I did and I did something about it.
Flashback.......It\'s 1975, July 5th to be exact and a young US Marine on leave is at Belmont Park.
(The Marine being me.....and for the record, I was with "her" and not "him").
The match race that was suppose to settle that battle of the sexes ended up as a NYRA nightmare when Ruffian broke down and was 8 hours later put down. Argue ably she was the best filly in racing and may still be so.
A Bride takes her horse for a swim. While having a horse in a wedding is not uncommon, the taking a swim in a wedding dress is pretty unusual. But the photos are in fact beautiful and very well done.
Both Horse and Bride seem completely unfazed by the swim (however I wonder about the wedding party....I bet they were taken back by it).
Well I took a chance and uploaded Winnie the Pooh and Piglet this morning.
I\'m pretty sure it will go over okay with everyone in DN. It\'s just hard to believe that and old pilot (like me) would have a soft spot for Pooh and the gang in the 100 acre woods. (I hope my granddaughter can keep me young forever).
I surprised myself when I saw how many downloads there were for both Star Trek and Serenity (Firefly).....I really didn\'t think people would be that interested in either of them (considering how old both of those shows are). Firefly "really" surprised me a lot....The show wasn\'t on for very long, but it did have a pretty large following (I just didn\'t expect it in DN)....so, all in all a very pleasant surprise.
