On March 31, 2020 the government announced that tests would sooon be available to the masses, including NHS workers, which it previously was not.

In a press briefying that day, the government said they would provide Brits with home testing kits, with finger-prick kits that will be available from Amazon and Boots.

But the Government has only ordered 3.5 million tests, which is not enough for the entire UK population.
