About Me:	Mel Pohl is a Board Certified Family Practitioner. Mel Pohl, MD is the VP of Medical Affairs and the Medical Director of LVRC Mel Pohl, MD was a main force of establishing LVRC Pain Treatment Program. He is certified by the American Board of Addiction Medicine, and Fellow of the American Society of Addiction Medicine. Mel Pohl is the previous chairman of the American Society of Addiction Medicine's AIDS Committee, a member of the American Society of Addiction Medicine's Symposium Planning Committee, a member of the planning committee for ASAM's Annual "Common Threads, Pain and Addiction" Course and co-chair of the American Society of Addiction Medicine's Pain and Addiction Workgroup. ASAM's is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Practice and a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Dept of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at U of N School of Medicine. Mel Pohl, MD, FASAM was nominated by his friends for inclusion in Best Doctors from 2009 to 2014. Mel is a nationally recognized community speaker and co-creator of Pain Recovery: How to Find Balance and Reduce Suffering from Chronic Pain (Central Recovery Press, 2009). Mel Pohl, MD, FASAM is the writer of A Day without Pain (Central Recovery Press, 2008), which gained a silver medal from Independent Publisher Book Award in 2009.
