I have no idea on how hard it is to get a job around here, because I'm retired/disabled for 2 years (seems longer). I imagine that anyone looking for any pay could find a job as easy as asking for one. But, finding a job that is guaranteed that you get good pay or the job still be available next week, could be a different story. This is the thing about older workers looking for a job (after losing a high-paying job) in the newer times, trying to get a job at the same rate as when they lost their old job.

I live in town, and it's population is 5,000. Our lands are very hilly with trees covering the steeper slopes, and fields in the other places. The NW area is popular because of farm lands, a BB-Gun factory, Wal-Mart, Trucking Industries, JB Hunt (here in my home town), DELP, P.A.M. Trucking, Welch's Grape, Fruit farms/orchards, beef, turkey, and chicken farms.
Can you guess what is the costliest product from waste?
Manure from birds.
I can hear your thoughts!
PuppydawgPosted by Puppydawg   10 Hours Ago
I agree, it stinks! But At this time I'd rather forget business and focus on the funnies of life, like this:

A married couple was celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary.

At the party everybody wanted to know how they managed to stay married so long in this day and age.

The husband responded.......

“When we were first married we came to an agreement.
I would make all the major decisions and my wife would make all the minor decisions.
And in 60 years of marriage we have never needed to make a major decision.”
:D :)

Yes, Jerry. I worked for our County for 28 years, even though only 26 years were actually counted. And I know all too well how percentage pay doesn't work well for the lower-paid employees. When the higher paid ones were getting 3% we were getting 1% or $1 per month more, then reduce that with income taxes and we were getting a .50 cent per month raise!
It stinks of skunks anytime you go around governmental pay scales/standards.

Hi my dear Jerry, judging by what Roger has written, this great big mess is worldwide. Sort of welcome to the club. All quiet here about the wedding, but I don't think it is the end. Remember the 17 year old who was raped and disembowled. Well first there were 3 accused, now it is down to 1. His case comes up at the beginning of June. Will keep you posed. The striking workers who were shot at by the police is an everyday story. The minister of Police has not changed her story for all of that time. One week, they grilled her for 3 days and her story stayed the same (I am so proud of her) No she is the Commissioner of Police. She kept her cool where a lot of lesser people would have lost it. There were times when I was biting on my teeth. Now our great one wants to clean up corruption every day, but I promise you that if anyone is nipping straws, it is him. He is ignorant. I think he has Std. 4 and he wants to be President until "The Lord comes", that was his words. Well Jerry, I have your friend Roger as a Friend. I tell you, he is soo funny, you have no idea, or perhaps you do. :) :) I hope you and Glyn have an amazing weekend filled with Blessings. Big hugs and lots of love from Joy. xoxoxo Thank you for being such a great friend. xxx

Well, as far as I know, our idiots are going about like normal, with their heads buried in the sand, as a gentle expression, if you know what I really mean. They are nonchalant about it.... but, there may be more in the White House looking into it (meaning the CIA, FBI, or NSA). Can we rely on MI6? Or is that disbanded? I don't know about what all organizations you have over there. Even if I did, I'd forget it by the next time we talked. LOL
There's so much discussions going on about our spending ceilings on the deficit, and so many justifiable means to correct it, but no one wants to think about losing their high paid jobs (but if they would just LISTEN to the procedures, they would STILL have their job and get paid) to get the money levels down to an equal pay-scale all across the board, and that's the ONLY reason that nothing is getting done. No one person WANTS to listen to the CORRECT REMEDY, and to follow it through. It would cost nothing if they would shut their mouths, and sit and listen as it was explained. Then, with opened minds, get it fixed with a fine-toothed comb and present it and be done with it. BUT, the biggest guffaw comes when our KING 'O' shuts it down, because HE, too, will have to take a cut!
PuppydawgPosted by Puppydawg   Yesterday at 7:44am
Yes, I agree that there seems to be something not quite correct, as they seem to be waiting too long to do their job, but (who knows) they may be doing it like this to make damned sure they have enough proof that they are the right people to pick out of a crowd, and NOT have made a major goof, and the extremely dangerous ones get out because someone wasn't covering all of the bases and getting the correct procedures to make it legal and it hold-up in court! But, at the same time, their long pauses could/can allow other guilty parties enough time to either leave the country, or hide in some underground place and never be seen again!

Hi my dear Jerry, I tell you the whole wedding is smelling totally rotten. My sister in Jhb told me today that some of the people who came into the country (I'm sure that was not the Air Force's job to check) never left the country. Now they are stuck here as the came in illegally and never left, but I suppose someone has a list. But I tell you the very high ups are spinning around and that there will be no high post names used to get into the country and corruption will be rooted out. Oh hello! mr big has stuff against him. Jannie's sister spoke to me this evening. Her husband was taken into hospital to have a stent put in his heart and then they saw an embollism near his heart and had to be kept quiet until they could operate, so that the blood pressure wouldn't go up and burst the thing, but at the same time they took liver tests. Before the operation, he gets terrible urinary tract infection. By the time that is over they get the test results - liver cancer and she tells me it is very aggressive. I spoke to him about a week ago and he sounded so positive and she was crying when she spoke to me tonight. This all happened in a matter of 3 weeks.
They can't operate for either of the 2 problems. I feel so sorry for her, she divorced her 1st husband, then her son was killed in a motor car accident. About 2 months ago the first husband died and now she is sitting with this and her daughter is in Australia. Forget that for now, I am so glad that you had such a great birthday, lucky fish !!!!!! I reversed out of the garage the other day and broke off the rear view mirror. That is the only mark that I have put on my car, but Jannie found one at the scrapyard and today my mechanic put my new seat covers on and got out a dent that Jannie happened to do. It looks soo great. He wanted to charge me R200 to take out all the seats, cover them and fix the ugly mark. That is $25. You must be joking, so I rolled up R300 and felt better about it, but on Tuesday she has to go in again for (I think) CV-joints. As far as I am concerned she has treated me well, and Alec and I heard this noise ages ago, but Andre and Jannie couldn't hear it. Joints R300 x 2 R450 x 2 for labour = R1500. Not bad to get my car up to scratch. Thank heavens for my bags. My profit (not too bad) gets squirreled into my little savings acc.
It felt nice to know I had it when I had to pay. I was proud. Thank you for the push. I have 24 to go. Well my dear Friends, sorry about the book, but enjoy tour Friday and have a Blessed Saturday. Big hugs and lots of love from Joy. :) :) :) xoxoxo

Woo-hoo! I've busted out of my busyness for a little while! I've come by to say hello, and to encourage you to read my most recent DN journal entry, especially if you haven't heard from me in awhile!

http://my.desktopnexus.com/CollieSmile/journal/get-around...

Thanks for checking it out. Have a beautiful day!

Elaine :)

PS. I have been wanting to invite you to the group that I've created the most recently. It is called Easy Viewing. Here is the link. The wallpaper above is one that I made for it, in fact.

This group has been an unexpected blessing for me. I haven't had as much time for wallpaper creating lately. The designs for this group usually are less time consuming for me to make.

Have a look around...maybe you have wallpapers that will fit this group! Especially since I have expanded what I looking for and brighter wallpapers are more welcome now! :D

Hi Joy, It is good when someone can keep the same story going, it takes a lot of thinking, I would think that is why she got to the top. As for that young girl, so its all down to one man now, we had a bad case last week a drummer in the army was run over and had his head hacked off, by two chaps, the police have them but it has started a lot of trouble from the different coultures, I think that there will be some more news about the weding, later. take good care my der sweet friend, see you soon

Your sister in-law, has had a bad deal, I fill so bad about it, with her doughter living down in Oz, they will not see a lot of each other, but there is always the net. She will need people now, to pop in and see how things are, do they live far from you, you were saying that this is over 3 weeks, that is fast, it is not a nice thing to have, it could be very painful, he may have a lot of drugs to take, not to good.
