IB中文即國際文憑組織IBO（International Baccalaureate Organization)，為全球學生開設從幼兒園到大學預科的課程，為3-19歲的學生提供智力，情感，個人發展，社會技能等方面的教育，使其獲得學習，工作以及生存於世的各項能力。

IBO成立於1968年，迄今為止遍布138個國家與將近三千個學校合作，學生數量超過77萬。與A-level、AP課程並稱三大國際高中課程體系。

課程內容

IB主要是為高中十一和十二年級學生設置的大學預科課程。IB課程不以世界上任何一個國家的課程體系為基礎，但廣泛吸收了當代許多發達國家主流課程體系的優點，涵蓋了其主要的核心內容。因此IB課程體系既具有與世界各國主流教育課程體系之間的兼容性，又有自己教育理念發展下的獨特性。

IB課程分配在六個基礎學科領域裏，學生既要學習科學科目，又要學習人文科目。所有參加文憑項目的學生，必須在這六個學科組中每組選一門課程進行學習。每一門課程又分為高級課程和普通課程。所選六門課中，三門必須是高級課程。
