Crying
Been busy, spending more time with my old Chihuahua Tripp. he is now 12. He is getting weaker, sleeping more, eating and drinking less, sometimes his back legs give out. My vet says enjoy my time, he is fading. I am heartbroken, he has been my constant companion since i got him for Mother's day 12 years ago. he was a runt, not doing well, his mother was not feeding him, he was very weak. But he had my heart from the second i laid eyes on him. Always a feisty fella, still has an attitude. I now call him "old man". The heat and humidity here this summer has kept him in recently, his eye sight is not good anymore, and his hearing is going. he is losing fur and getting very white. He is also getting wrinklier, but still my ole Tripper. i have cried a million tears, i will miss him much, he has been most loyal and loving, it does hurt to see him age, but I love him. I take my responsibilities seriously, and his loyalty and trust is what I will hold to when the time comes if I must make a decision. I pray he goes in his sleep, it will be so much kinder in my mind. He needs help at times to get on the bed, always lays beside me. I wish i had more years with him, as my sister's Chihuahua Abigail lived to be 17 despite having seizures. At least i have his daughter Ittsy Bittsy, she is now 5, she was pushed aside to die after birth by her mother, she was very tiny, only as big as my thumb, still very tiny-only weighs 3 pounds. She started out being fed with an eye dropper, strangely my dachshund Gypsy nursed her after she was given to her . Tripp never held it against me when I had him neutered as i did not want him to breed with his daughter, though he was not a happy camper when I picked him up from the vet that day! Just rambling, he has a piece of my heart, it will be so hard, pray for my Tripp.
