Thomas Adewumi University (TAU) is a private, not-for-profit university licensed by the Federal Government of Nigeria in April 2021. Located in a rural community, Oko-Irese, Irepodun Local Government of Kwara State, the university, together with her sister institution, the Thomas Adewumi International College (TAICO) has been the leading light in community impact, providing access roads, and medical services, through the establishment of a cottage hospital serving over 60 other rural communities, basic education through the establishment of an elementary school, and secondary education, through the establishment of a day secondary school among others.
The university’s core focus is on the delivery of students-centered university education in Science, Technology, Engineering and Medicine (STEM). Sited on over 300 hectares of fertile land supported by the abundance of rainfall and generally good weather, the university cultivates over 25% of the landmass concentrating on the production of both food crops and livestock. As a university, TAU is deeply committed to making a meaningful contribution to all 17 Sustainable Development Goals, and through research, teaching, and community engagement initiatives, address pressing global challenges while nurturing the next generation of leaders and change-makers
