Although some skateboarders are sensitive about the topic, I believe it is safe to say that longboards are a unique kind of skateboard. Nevertheless, for the purposes of this discussion, I\'ll refer to "skateboard" to describe the traditional, 32-inch popsicle-shaped boards that are frequently used by children to skate in skate parks or jump off curbs. Skateboards are typically smaller than longboards. Skateboard Long board come in a wide range of lengths, but even a short one will often be wider, have larger trucks, and larger, softer wheels than a skateboard.

However, there are certain exceptions, such "hybrid" and "small cruiser" longboards can be anything from 24 and 48 inches long, but the majority of skateboard decks are a little over 30 inches long. The wheelbase, which measures the space between the trucks, is frequently longer on longboards. When riding quickly, stability is greatly improved by having the wheels farther apart. The deck shapes of longboards also vary greatly, whereas skateboards essentially all have the same traditional 8 to 30 inch wide Popsicle shape. A longboard will probably be a better option than a skateboard if your main objective is to casually cruise through town and along parkways.

Due to the smaller deck and shorter wheelbase, which again make a skateboard less stable, learning to stand up on a standard skateboards for girls will be more difficult for you as a beginning than learning to stand up on a longboard. The smaller and harder wheels of the skateboard make for a very bumpy and noisy ride, even after you manage to get your balance. A longboard will be easier to use because you can probably learn to ride in a couple of hours. Your chill ride will be more comfortable if your deck and wheelbase are longer. Go with a full-size drop-through cruiser or a pintasil even though the deck is taller if you anticipate doing a lot of pushing and big wide turns.
