Milwaukee Invisible Lines




I ran into Alex Conway this afternoon on the East Side of Milwaukee. I had a couple minutes to ask him about a few of his production techniques.
R: What is you process when you start working on a new track?
AC: Man, it always varies. Sometimes I’ll have a little bit of a riff on my guitar. Others we’ll start out with the vocal part. I’ve done tracks off the baseline too!
R: What DAW are you using for this?
AC: Usually Steinberg’s Cubase. I think I have 8 or 8.5 right now.
R: What do you think the most important thing new producer’s should focus on.
AC: I think zoning in a sound is really important. You know, like making it sound unique. Good samples, good synths, a unique vocalist.
R: What are you up to this weekend?
AC: Summerfest
