3. Bud Pikmin
Bud pikmin is the final stage in a Pikmin’s maturity. They grow a round bud from their stems, instead of chaenostoma coratum. These bud Pikmin move moderately faster than the leaf and flower Pikmin but they can't transport as many Pikmin or any other objects such as rock Pikmin.

Candypop Buds are available in all three Pikmin Games, but the Violet or Ivory can only be found in Mission Mode in Pikmin 2; they cannot be found above ground anywhere else in the series. There are also golden, lapis lazuli and crimson candypop buds.

These Candypop Buds are used to release the Pikmin seeds. A crimson Candypop Bud will spit out Red Pikmin seed when it is thrown in. These seeds will return to the stem of the bud and can be used for creating Pikmin. However, this is only possible after five other critters have been removed from the bud.

4. Rock Pikmin
Pikmin 3's Rock Pikmin is a type that Pikmin 3 calls "Rock Pikmin". They look like large, irregular rocks and have an indigo bloom.

They are resistant to blunt force. They can also be thrown or crushed by other enemies.

They are extremely useful against Yellow Wollywog and Skutterchuck. They are the only Pikmin capable of climbing these enemies and they are immune to the crystal nodules that attack Skutterchuck.

Banpresto also released a few amusement prizes in 2002. They included a bud Red Pikmin and a yellow flower Pikmin. These plushies are only available in Japan.

5. Pikmin Winged
Winged Pikmin are able to fly and excel at aerial combat, unlike their common counterparts. They are also mobile and can follow other Pikmin across difficult terrain or bodies water.

They are also the fastest Pikmin at digging, which allows them to find treasures quicker than Rock and Leaf Pikmin. They are also resistant to electricity making them an excellent choice for removing shock-proof barriers and breaking down electric fences.

These Pikmin can also transport items above water bodies, which allows them to avoid drop-downs or rivers that grounded Pikmin can't cross. Winged Pikmin can still be injured by water and need to be rescued from deep water.
