About Me:	Phillip Elden is the conservation director for Native Oregon, an organization that takes initiatives to enhance environmental protection for Oregon’s native plants and animals. Prior to co-founding Native Oregon, Phillip Elden worked as a geological researcher studying the Oregon’s High Desert region. He was also involved in several outdoor environmental projects, relying on his expertise of logging and reforestation. Phillip Elden is a graduate of the University of Oregon, where he received a bachelor’s degree in geological sciences. He is intrigued by the use of practical applications of geological principles in solving a number of environmental issues. For his senior thesis, Elden conducted research on ways people interact with the environment. His deep love for nature inspired Phillip Elden to become an avid mountain climber. As an active member of the mountain climbing club, The Mazamas, Phillip Elden has had the opportunity to climb Mt. Jefferson, Mt. Hood and several other glacial peaks. His 2014 goal is to climb Mt. Rainier.
