I grew up in the small town of Flint, Michigan (yes, the SAME Flint that you may have heard about in the documentary Roger and Me about the devastation of the auto industry or more recently the SAME Flint that has lead in it’s water poisoning it’s citizens). My parents we just teenagers when they got married and you can imagine having two children by age 21 would be overwhelming for anyone. We had to live with my grandparents and by age 7 they were divorced.
