I understand the interior is unfinished. Nearby is Schloss Linderhof, another of Ludwig's castles and also honors Wagner. He built a cave for one of Wagner's operas but the acoustics are so bad it was never performed. The tea house is awesome. There is a geyser in front that goes off every hour. Neuschwanstein is close but we ran out of time and only saw it from afar. Someday I hope to go back.
