Hi Carlo,
you asked for the Colors. This place is a former lime pit. Under the lime they found various formations of sands and stones with different colors. See below the opposite side of this place. When the sun shines on it, the colors are not so clear.
On my side you can find an image of an other view of this place with a little Lake. It is totally different from these views.
