Most of us don’t think much about our rooms until something looks off, but it doesn’t have to be that way. Whether you’re planning on getting a new room or just want to freshen up your old one, wallpaper can be one of the easiest ways to create a unique and personal space.
Check out the following wall hanging steps below:
Pay attention to the type of wallpaper that you are going to install. Wallpaper installation is an art and one that takes patience and practice. Sometimes, even just one small mistake can spoil the look of your wall. It’s also important to keep an eye on the cost of your wallpaper purchases. It’s easy to spend more than you expected. And if you want to save some cash, make sure to read the labels carefully.
Measure the focal walls’ width and height. Make sure you measure the focal wall in your room, find the midpoint of that wall, and then mark that point as one of the steps in the following plan. Take careful measurements of your wall to ensure the finished product will fit exactly.
Prepare the wallpaper. The purpose of preparing the wallpaper is to make sure that the wallpaper is clean and free and clear and ready and dry and the like. The preparation that we will be starting off with today is prepping the wallpaper. The wallpaper that we will be starting out with today is textured wallpaper.
Hang the first strip of wallpaper from SYD Wallpapering. Once you’ve got the wallpaper you want up, you might want it to hang straight rather than down at an angle, which is the most common way you find it. This will make it easier to reach the edges and keep them from getting damaged over time.
Trim the excess paper. If you are cutting the wallpaper to fit the wall or ceiling, you need to consider the space available, the type of wall you are hanging it on, and how it will be used. That’s why it’s best to create a drawn-up plan of the area before you start.
Start covering the wall’s corners. Start at the corners of the wall and work your way up. It’s a very easy process that can be done in just a few minutes.
Trim the excess paper around the windows and doors. The excess paper needs to be removed to prevent it from getting in the way when hanging the wallpaper.
Don’t forget to trim off the excess around the windows stool and apron. You can trim your wallpaper to fit around windows, which makes for a cleaner and neater look. And you can easily do this without buying a special tool and without even having to lift a finger. Just pull your wallpaper straight up and use it as a guide to cut your pieces.
Work on the headers and footers. It is quite common for wallpapers to be hung with the ends overlapping, which usually means they are slightly the wrong way round. This means that you have to compensate by starting at the top of your wallpapers and working downwards instead of vice versa.

Finding the right way to hang wallpaper is costly and frustrating, even when you’re trying to create an impact on your home. Once you begin your project, you’ll find that there are many different methods that you can use, each with its own pros and cons. Still, when it comes to achieving an impact on your home, if you don’t use the right wall texture, you’ll end up with a complete failure.
