Happy
Over the past two years I\'ve grown accustomed to not being anywhere near a workplace and with my country re-opening recently the shock, to say the least, was great. I guess i\'ve gotten used to not having a boss looking over my shoulder every five minutes and micromanaging my day. Subsequently, I recently made the decision to basically chuck in my job and move to Asia.

Going offshore isn\'t a decision I am making lightly as it will have ramifications for retirement and living in later life. However, I just don\'t think I really want to work for the man anymore in a Western country where the cost of living is spiraling out of control. So I started by reading through Tim Ferris\'s book the 4 Hour work week and realised I can exit myself fairly easy.

The biggest step I took over the pandemic lockdown is basically to start my own small business hustle on the side. It wasn\'t easy and I swear I was going to fail multiple times because I had never run a small business before. However I managed to make it work and i\'m now at the point of quitting my job and I think i\'m earning just enough to support myself in Asia somewhere cheap.

The next stage is I need to get a company and a trust setup somewhere secure because I am keeping some real estate I own in my home country and don\'t want to government taking it for homeless people (Yes that\'s a thing here for non-residents). I recently read this article: The Roving Entrepreneur and it gave me some of the basics of moving the ownership into an offshore company name. It\'s definitely not cheap but its getting there.

Anyway, that\'s my first steps in divorcing myself from the West. I will keep you all updated on my next moves because i\'m going to have to tell my parents next that i\'m leaving and why and this is going to be a huge issue!

Take Care Everyone!
Peace.
