Why change a plumbing installation?

Before starting with the reform of your bathroom, consider if it is really necessary to change the entire installation or just make some adjustments to it. As a general rule, professionals recommend changing the bathroom pipes if the installation is made of lead or galvanized steel, since they are materials that can suffer the effects of corrosion or leaks over the years.

It is also advisable to replace the plumbing installation in a bathroom if it is more than 10 years old or if it does not comply with the safety standards in force today.

Another reason to do a new installation of pipes in a bathroom is if you want to carry out a comprehensive reform in which there is going to be a change in the arrangement of the sink, toilet, bathtub or shower. In that case, since the pipes will probably need to be rectified as well, the best option is to do a complete new plumbing installation. This will ensure that you do not have problems with leaks or breakages in a short time and the investment in the reform will have been worth it.

How to install a siphon in the bathroom

In the installation of the pipes of a bathroom it is necessary to install a symphonic pot to avoid bad odors. The symphonic boat has several entrances and one exit. The mouths of the inlets are usually 40 mm in diameter and each one of them receives the water from one place (eg washbasin, bidet, washing machine, shower, toilet ...). The outlet is slightly larger, 50mm in diameter. It is advisable to leave it like this and not make it smaller with a reducer, because it is common for a bathroom to use several water inlets at the same time. With the larger diameter of the outlet you make sure that the water circulates correctly through the pipes and that no saturation occurs.

How to install the pipes of a sink

To install the pipes of a sink, the first thing you will have to do is make a vertical friction on the bricks of the wall to insert the pipe. The gap must be centered between the hot and cold water intakes of the sink. Take a PVC pipe with two elbows at its ends and insert it into the open chase in the wall. The bottom elbow will connect to the siphon and the top elbow to the sink. The axis of the tube should be 55 cm from the bathroom floor.
