First you need a Xentry/DAS working with your C3 Mux on Com 2, so you can exclude any problems with Comport configuration, bad .bin files for the mux or blacklistet serials.
If you feel, everything is OK with your Mb Star C3 Mux on Xentry and DAS, install Vediamo 04.02.02
After installation and copy the patch, start Vediamo Startcenter to see, Vediamo ist working.
Close Vediamo.
Go to : C:program filesVediamoCaesardriver
Here you have to edit the slave.ini, look for [PartD] and change the com port to 2 like this: Com=2 ; COM port
Now go to: Cocuments and SettingsAll UsersApplication DataVediamoConfig
Edit here the vediamo.ini search for: USE_SISerialDriver=0 under [CAESAR] entry and change it to: USE_SISerialDriver=1
Search for: ShowDefaultSystems=0 under [ECOUTE] entry and change it to: ShowDefaultSystems=1
Search for: ComPort=2049 under [PSR] entry and change it to: ComPort=2
search for: CCFPFAD=Cocuments and SettingsAll UsersApplication DataVediamoVediamoData under [CAESAR] entry and change it to: CCFPFAD=FrogrammeXentry_PKWCaesarccf
search for: CFFPFAD=Cocuments and SettingsAll UsersApplication DataVediamoVediamoData under [CAESAR] entry and change it to: CFFPFAD=E:VediamoDatencff
search for: CBFPFAD=Cocuments and SettingsAll UsersApplication DataVediamoVediamoData under [CAESAR] entry and change it to: CBFPFAD=E:VediamoDatencbf
search for: ShortTestDataDir=Cocuments and SettingsAll UsersApplication DataVediamoVediamoShortTestData under [ECOUTE] entry and change it to: ShortTestDataDir=E:VediamoDatencbf
Create a folder named VediamoData in E: In this folder create a folder named cbf and a folder named cff
Now we have to copy the importent cbf files from hereDatabase Vediamo.txt)
Go to Extras->Flashdata administration Click Add select the E:VediamoDatacff folder. If you see all these folders, containing all these cff files, choose down at Files of type->Show folders only click select. Wait ! It’s depends on your Laptop and could take up to 10 min.
There is not only one Mercedes Benz diagnostic scanner device for W211. Different engineers bought different models in different markets and at different times, they are MB sdconnect c4 SDS Xentry, Foxwell NT530, Launch X431 EasyDiag, Autel AP200, Thinkcar Pro etc. They are all verified working fine, let’s have a look at what they can do? Are they worth the money?
1. Chinese clone sdconnect c4 SDS Xentry Review:
I use a Chinese clone c4, love it for me the biggest advantage is it includes workshop manual and part catalog.
Further I like the guided troubleshooting have not seen anything like it on other scanners.
SDS w/ Chinese MUX. That’s the best thing out there for a Mercedes-Benz.
A couple things you can do with SDS is mods like lowering the car via the airmatic options or coding things present/not present.
For DIY user: full SDS lets you make changes and updates, but I think it’s overkill if you just want to repair whatever breaks. I think they are in the $600-$700 range although sometimes you find used ones cheaper.
Alright, having WIS is super nice IF, and that’s a big if, you’re going to do all your own work. However, you can just get a copy of the WIS and EPC so no need to get SDS just for WIS.
I picked up one of the WIS/EPC copies
and have been pretty happy with it. I don’t think mine is 100% current, but it’s got everything for my 2005, and it was not expensive. Came with all the softwre to run it – pre-installed on a virtual machine, with free software to boot it – and Just Worked. Being able to do all the datacard lookups I wanted and to look at whole systems and find part numbers has already been useful.
Paired with one of the less expensive scanners, it might be all you need.
(I am waiting for my sdconnect C4 knock-off to arrive and have already put together the needed old laptop with a serial port to run it with, but I’m a computer geek and easily have that kind of thing at hand. If you don’t feel confident about installing unavailable software on elderly laptops, it might not be the right course for you.)
I’m still using my X431 Launch EasyDiag I bought years ago. Found bad steering angle sensor with it and just recently had a pending fault with the intake manifold. All you really need is something to tell you what’s wrong with it and be able to scan sub systems. Still works, at the time it was about $30 but now it’s way up in price.
If I were getting one now, I’d probably just get the Autel AP200 about $60 on obd2tool.com.
If you want to find codes, bleed your brakes, mess with stuff a bit, and probably do this stuff on all your other cars – a regular Foxwell/Autel/iCarsoft will work fine.
3. Foxwell NT530 Benz scanner review
I have SDS SD4 clone and it works well, but definitely improved when I installed the software natively on a laptop rather than running it as a virtual machine on a USB hard drive.
recently I needed a scanner and didn’t have access to my SDS. I needed to replace SBC and secondary air pump issue on an SL55.
So i bought a Bluedriver. It looked pretty but was only able to read basic codes rather than components like the SBC. Also it didn’t do activations for testing.
So then bought a Foxwell NT530, with the Mercedes extra functions download. fairly familiar navigation to the SDS and was able to deactivate the SDS and also bleed the brakes. It did crash a couple of times when I was trying a few things, but as it is powered from the OBD II port you just pull out the cable and reconnect it. Good value for money I think and of course will work on other cars too.
Now Thinkcar have the Thinkcar 2 on sale for some days. Has a bunch of reset functions like ABS brake bleed, DPF reg, etc.
There’s the Thinkcar Pro and also Thinkdiag. Probably the Pro is better, Thinkcar 2 is limited to just two VINs whereas pro will do an entire car line. Reset software is also limited to the vin with thinkcar 2. And the pro model is about the same price.
They have a Thinkdiag which does all car lines and reset software but that’s basically almost $300. I guess that would be good if you’re a mechanic that works on lots of cars. Their reset features include ABS bleeding and DPF reg.
Customer Problem: I used Digimaster 3 for my Lexus, but when I select “Lexus”, there was nothing appeared.
Obd2tool.com engineer replied:
Please delete DEVI file, and update again. Here are the related steps below: In the state of shutdown, at the same time press “1” and keyboard keys, and then boot, after a string of English appear, then loose hand, press OK.
Here have collected some odometer correction problems from Yanhua Digimaster 3 customers. Check the relevant answers below
Q1: Can digimaster 3 adjust mileage for 2016-2018 kia picanto ion?
Does it need tokens? When I want to update module ID 063f, the system prompts need 50 tokens.
A1: This function was upgraded in September 2018.If the digimaster 3 purchased before this date, it needs tokens. On the contrary, no need tokens. There are 200 tokens in the device for later upgrades.
Q2: I bought Digimaster3 to change mileage on 2014 Toyota 4 Runner, but I didn’t find the car model, how to do?
A2: Open dashboard to find an eight feet chip
Follow the corresponding model to read original car km by digimaster 3
Then change mileage you want
Q3: Can I use YH digimaster 3 to change mileage on Ford Transit 2015 Mk7?
A3: Yes, need to dismantle the dashboard.
Q4: Does digimaster 3 support 2018 Toyota Rav4 odometer correction? Attach the CPU diagram as below.
I have a few of these Star Xentry for sale. It is the original make and model just without Mercedes branding.
All are new just opened to see contents.
Will come with USB cable and instructions on how to setup.
This is used for adapting various parts such as Injectors, Headlights, Control units etc and will automatically fill in the relevant box with the code.

When you are in need a high-quality scan tool, you want a system that’s built for professional mechanics in mind. Two of the best OBD2 scanners for mechanics and technicians are the Autel MaxiSys Pro and the Autel Maxisys Elite. Choosing between these two models requires that you exam the features of each.
We’ve done the comparing for you and can give you an accurate assessment of the Autel Maxisys Pro vs. Autel MaxiSys Elite.
Autel MaxiSys Pro or Autel MaxiSys Elite: Which One is Best?
If you are in the market for the most advanced OBD2 scanner you can get your hands on, then the Autel MaxiSys Elite would be the best option. It offers every feature you might need in the professional environment and leaves you lacking nothing.
If you prefer to keep the cost down, then the Autel MaxiSys Pro is still a viable option. It’s portable and full of valuable features but doesn’t have as much versatility as the Elite model does.
When speed matters, the Autel MaxiSys Pro delivers. It’s built with a powerful A9 quad-core 1.40 GHz processor. This allows you to complete assessments in record time. It also features a 9.7” LED screen that provides a 1,024 x 768 resolution. This backlit display features Multi-Touch capability for additional versatility.
The 3.13-pound machine is equipped with a 32GB solid-state drive which offers superior and reliable performance. There’s even an attached 5.0-megapixel rear camera with flashlight and auto focus to create the ideal diagnostic solutions for techs that demand perfection.
The built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery provides up to eight hours of continuous operation. Furthermore, it has Wi-Fi connectivity, USB ports and a dedicated app. It also features a sturdy, ergonomic design that’s made to withstand the abuse of a busy shop.
The extensive vehicle coverage extends across over 80 U.S., Asian and European vehicle makes. It also reads the Check Engine Light, ABS, ESP and SRS/Airbag. Not only can users configure the display options, but with one touch it’s simple to set triggers, records plus playbacks.
The cloud-based Data Manager saves vehicle and customer records, data from the scanner plus technician notes for future reference. You can print the data at any time thanks to the Wi-Fi capability. Users also get access to one-year of free online updates.
Autel MaxiSys Elite Overview
For a top of the line OBD2 scanner, you aren’t going to find anything more sophisticated than the Autel MaxiSys Elite. It’s what technicians and mechanics dream of using because it doesn’t lack any feature. Of course, it is a little bigger than some of the smaller units. It will feel more like carrying a tablet than a handheld scanner, but that bigger 9.7” screen size offers some notable benefits.
First, the touchscreen on this model features 2048 x 1536 resolution for an even clearer picture. It also comes complete with an 8.0-megapixel rear camera with flashlight and auto focus. Furthermore, you have multiple connectors on this system, so you can take advantage of cloud technology and Wi-Fi.
If you drop this scanner, you won’t have to worry about it breaking. It’s constructed with durable rubber and it features rounded corners. This not only protects the screen of the scanner but also the inner workings of the machine itself.
This machine offers coverage across over 80 U.S., Asian and European vehicle makes. With a simple touch, you gain readings about the Check Engine Light, ABS, ESP and SRS/Airbag.
Of course, the price is on the higher end of what most people expect to pay. Still, it’s the most comprehensive tool on the market and comes complete with two years of free online updates.
With this OBD2 scanner, you have one tool to handle a multitude of vehicle diagnostics, especially if you plan to work on numerous makes and models.
Today I’m gonna show how to do a reset on the oil change required service engine light with the Autel Maxisys Elite OBD2 Code Reader. I went ahead and changed the oil, so I should reset that, let me show how it’s done.
Plug Autel Elite connector into OBD2 port, and turn the ignition on, do not start it.
Diagnostics >> Ford >> Automatic selection >> Read >> Yes
Hot functions >> Oil reset >> Manual oil reset >> OK
Note: reset the oil life monitoring only after an oil change.
Turn the ignition key to the on position. Do not start the engine. For vehicles with push-button start, press and hold the start button for 2 seconds without pressing the brake pedal. Do not attempt to start the engine. Press both the accelerator and brake pedals at the same time. Keep both pedals fully pressed. After 3 seconds, the service: oil reset in prog. message will be displayed. After 25 seconds, the service: oil reset complete message will be displayed. Release both the accelerator and brake pedals. The service: oil reset complete message will no longer be displayed. Rotate the key to the off position. For vehicles with push-button start, press the start button to turn the vehicle off completely.
Okay now on the dashboard it says oil reset in prog. …oil reset complete, the message will no longer be listed.
So let’s take a look, restart the engine on, the message has gone!
Oil reset has done!
Autel Elite Diagnostic Scanner is really an useful tool to have, I use it daily at my place. It can do more than oil reset. So I would highly recommend to pick one up.
