About Me: I'm 64 years old and in 2010, I moved from New York City to Taipei, Taiwan. I work as an English language volunteer at a public school, teaching 8-10 year old kids.
Interests: I LOVE dogs. I love being around them and playing with them. Before I came to Taiwan, I had dogs for 44 years. I also write children's books and currently I'm working on a novel about a dog named "Rags." The dog in my wallpaper looks almost exactly like my dog Tallulah, who I sadly had to leave behind in New York City. I miss her terribly, but thankfully, she now has a wonderful new home. However, my heart aches for her and my other two dogs, Savannah (a Yorkie) and Beulah (a Maltese). If not for cruel and icompassionate airline regulations, I would've brought my dogs with me to Taiwan, but I wouldn't risk their lives.
Favorite Music: I love most music, but find rap a little too hard on the ears. I favor ballads, popular music - some old stuff and some new.
Favorite Movies: "The Lost Horizon," (1939 version), "Gone With the Wind," "The Silence of the Lambs," "Raise the Red Lantern" and "To Live," (dir. by Zhang Yimou), "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon," and too many more to list here.
Favorite TV Shows: "I Love Lucy," "The Carol Burnett Show," "The Golden Girls," but lately I stick mostly to cable TV.

Dear Mimibunny: Love the rabbit!! Here in Taipei, I recently ran into a rescue group trying to find homes for some cute ones. BTW, years ago I had 2 Westies: Bonnie and Dinah. They were just wonderful. Bonnie lived to be 15, but poor Dinah passed at age 10. I bought Bonnie, but Dinah came to me from a man dying of AIDS. When I got her, she had spent 3 months in a wire cage. Needless to say, when she came to my home, she was like a runaway train! I picked her up in NYC and on the drive back to Staten Island, I put her between my legs as I drove. She was so frightened, she peed on my lap. I've had many dogs in my life, but Dinah was the only house-wrecker. She succeeded in eating the plastic slipcovers off my sofa and destroyed a $300 oriental rug. Even so, I loved that crazy little dog. Bonnie, on the other hand, was a complete joy. She had that round, watermellon-like shape that usually only male Westies have and was unusually small for a Westie. All my "girls," as I called them, were the complete joy of my life. When I had my Westies, I also had a 15-year old Maltese and a 4lb.Yorkie. Years ago, when I had my own house in Staten Island, I had SIX dogs. When I chose the handle "dogsaremylife" I wasn't kidding! HAPPY NEW YEAR. Lorraine
