The advent of digital music , iPods , MP3 and streaming music has taken the shine off of vinyl records and the era they represented , but audiophiles will be granted! That the best way to enjoy the music remains Vinyl . Vinyl records , with their great covers ( and the great art of the album, which was produced by him ) continue to play truer original music to date . In an age of MP3s , of course , things like fidelity and quality are driven out of the window because of the convenience .

The way to play a vinyl record is through a turntable , of course . The record player stylus (or needle - you can choose to call it ) rotates at a fixed speed around the grooves of the disc , producing sound. There is a whole process to play records - choosing the right one from the library (which can run into thousands for the real audiophiles ) , taking the record being careful not to get any fingerprints on it , wiping it clean with a static cloth - free and finally put it in the player and carefully aligning the record player stylus on it
