This is a fine example of the Arabian breed. Mine are a bit shaggier just now... winter coats are necessary here on the High Lonesome.

This reminds me of my horse wrangling days, to many years ago to readily admit. It was the best job (and worst paying) of my life. In a sense, fresh back from Vietnam, the time I spent on the range gave me what I needed to recover my sanity and perspective on life.

My horses are Arabians, a beautiful, but somewhat high-strung breed. Last summer a wildfire swept through here, devastating the range and threatening stuctures and stock alike. I was fortunate. All I lost was the grazing.

Leave a comment...This "brown" horse looks sort of muley to me... but the country looks like where I live. Summer here in central Washington can get some on the warm side - a plus for me. Winters with all this snow and ice puts me in survival mode, and wistfully waiting for summer.

I sort of bumped into this site while searching for a new wallpaper, and liked what I found. Besides, its cold outside and I don't want to rush into mucking out the horse stalls yet. Ha!
