アクリルはポリメチルメタクリレート（PMMA）を原料とする熱可塑性樹脂板のひとつで、「アクリル板」という商品名で知られています。押出成形と鋳造のプロセスに従って製造され、多くの用途と利点を持つ多機能プラスチック板です。押し出しアクリル板」や「キャストアクリル板」と呼ばれています。この素材はポリカーボネート板に似ていますが、より安価で、表面が硬く、衝撃強度が低いのが特徴です。
