The Great Sphinx
[U][B]The Great Sphinx[/B][/U]

Entranced by the size of this colossal structure
My eyes fixed like that of a fox in a headlight
As it blocked out the sun and the rest of the world
To this sphinx I was bait and it swallowed me whole

I stood there transfixed between towering paws
Looked up at its head that was missing its nose
In awe I felt part of this prodigious structure
As the sphinx is a part of the dessert it rules

Through the years it has stood and looked over Giza
What sights its huge eyes must have seen over time
As it slowly erodes from harsh modern living
It will always remain the true wonder it is
