I can't understand a lot of the lyrics (either unintelligible or foreign languages), so the words don't distract me. I've been listening to some really amazing bands:
Finntroll, Eluveitie, Heidevolk, Korpiklaani, Amon Amarth, Dissection, Ensiferum, Windir and a bunch others. The sound is really heavy and has some classical instruments thrown in there, with mostly growling vocals. Really good stuff, I highly recommend it. It's also fast enough that it keeps me writing quickly, but not so fast as to be distracting or obnoxious.
Folk metal is seriously my favourite thing ever. ♥ I'll admit though, I can't stand half of the bands you listed. XD Eluveitie I'm still on the fence about, but I honestly can't stand Heidevolk, Korpiklaani, or Amon Amarth... The rest, though, are the definition of good music. Particularly Windir. Ever listened to Mistur? Apparently there's a whole bunch of the old Windir members in that one.
A couple other bands I like include Arkona, Skyforger, SuidAkrA, Manegarm, Falkenbach, Trollech, Finsterforst, etc =)
I'll have to listen to the ones you listed. I really like Windir and Finntroll the most, and Eluveitie was the first I ever heard so I'm kind of attached. Heidevolk I get burnt out on really quickly, and Korpiklaani and Amon Amarth I only like maybe two songs by, but those bands are better-known-of.
