Ruffian
Okay.....I think that the picture of Ruffian is the best thing that I\'ve done in awhile.
Not sure what made me think of her, but I did and I did something about it.
Flashback.......It\'s 1975, July 5th to be exact and a young US Marine on leave is at Belmont Park.
(The Marine being me.....and for the record, I was with "her" and not "him").
The match race that was suppose to settle that battle of the sexes ended up as a NYRA nightmare when Ruffian broke down and was 8 hours later put down. Argue ably she was the best filly in racing and may still be so.
