My son was in love with this bird so I looked it up. It took quite some looking, but according to abcbirds.org (American Bird Conservancy), this is a Green-headed Tanager from the humid lowland forests of southeast Brazil, Paraguay and northeast Argentina. Thanks for such a great picture!
