About Me: G'day to you all and thanks for stopping by....

I like to share with you a few simple things that make me happy and hopefully you'll get to know me a little......

Planning a surprise .... Nothing like planning for someone else’s happiness. It just stirs up the joy in my soul.

Walking outside with no shoes .... Preferably on grass or sand, but I’ll take concrete. I get a sense of freedom when I walk barefoot. I take every opportunity I can.

Giving and Receiving Hugs .... Touch is an important part of life.

Kisses ... they make me melt and cost nothing.

Holding Hands with Someone I Love... Every time he grabs my hand I am overcome with an awareness of how much he means to me. Holding hands is sensual and physically intimate, yet subtle. There are few people I allow to hold my hand, so when it happens I know the moment is special.

Holding the door for someone .... I understand that door holding is usually the guy’s domain, but I just love holding the door for people. Especially when they’re carrying a million things. I feel like it’s an invitation to a conversation.

Looking at the ocean .... I get a sense of awe when I look at the ocean. I definitely feel like I’m a part of a grand thing.

Watching a sunset.... is so spectacular as the night greets the last figments of day and the shadows play until the darkness falls.

Walking in the rain .... its magical and full with wonder.

Having a Good Laugh.... Laughter is the greatest cure of all. Life is extraordinary in the moments when I am laughing so hard I can barely breathe. These moments of deep laughter are divine in the sense that they cleanse my mood and set my mind on a positive track.

My roses-every time I see a new bud...I get so happy and smiley.

A glorious sunny day...and not having to work on that day!

Kids.... The look of love on a parents face as they just sit and hold their new one and the undying trust a baby has. Gets me every time!

The "ah-ha" feeling that comes when I'm drawing/painting--like all of a sudden the pieces fall into place--sometimes as a result of something I did, or even better, when other forces seem to be at work.

connections: visual connections, physical connections, personal connections, connections to something I read in a book, see in art, etc.

Good manners....I love it when people show good manners and common courtesy to their fellow human beings! Having a perfect stranger hold a door open for me makes me want to hug them and thank them for living in my world.

Making the Yellow Light ... It’s one of the most common simple pleasures, the act of beating the pack. As I blaze through the yellow light I glance in my rearview mirror to see all the cars behind me stopping at the red light. Yes! I made it!

Hearing the Right Song at the Right Moment .... It doesn’t matter what the setting is, hearing the right song for that moment is one of those simple pleasures in life that instantly lifts my spirits. I could be driving home from work, hanging out at a bar with friends, or jogging. When the right song rattles my ear drums the entire meaning of life seems crystal clear.

Catching a Glimpse of Bare Skin on the Opposite Sex.... For guys, it’s when the waitress bends over a little too far. For girls it’s seeing that buff guy in a Speedo. Either way, when I see a bit more skin than I was expecting on the opposite sex, I can’t help but to smirk on the inside.

Reminiscing About Old Times with my Closest Friends... Pink Floyd once said “the memories of a man in his old age are the deeds of a man in his prime”. There is no simple pleasure more satisfying than recounting the greatest moments of my life with my closest friends who lived these moments alongside me.
