Plumbing Water Pressure
What makes the water comes from sinks, baths or showers in your house? Simple: the water in the pipes in your house is pressurized. If your home meets the standards set by the Uniform Plumbing Code, shall be pressurized to about 50-70 pounds per square inch (PSI).

If you do not know the water pressure in your home, you can measure a water pressure gauge. These can be purchased at any hardware store, and will join one of their taps.
