Taking for Granted
There are humble people who are friendly. There are arrogant people who don’t care for friendliness. There are powerful people who are ignorant and there are knowledgeable people whose knowledge is their power. People acquire qualities through experience spread over many years. Some have more of one quality than the other nevertheless, everyone is capable. Nature desired it so that we share; trade and together make this world a better place to live.

Regrettably, human beings like to defy nature. Each of us think that the world belongs to him and the rest are there to serve him; this is unreasonable logic. Therefore, defiance in various forms happens to be the mother of all ills. We make this world more troublesome for us by taking people for granted.

We mustn’t take people for granted, but we do. Because humility tempts arrogance and arrogance takes advantage and manipulate humility. We must enquire as to why humble people are not appreciated for their humility; why we tend to take pity on them?

We really need to understand more about humility; its nature and its outlook as indeed we need to know why the powerful are arrogant. It seems that power and arrogance are two sides of the same coin and likewise humility and knowledge are two sides of the same coin. Why don’t we understand that by taking people for granted, consciously or unconsciously, we are taking God for granted?
